ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Public Relations Banner Patch given to Dudley Dorr so that he might add it to one of the honors banners.

2. Distinguished Club Patch given to Dudley Dorr. The certificate naming SLKC as a Distinguished Club for 2008-09 and Distinguished President lapel pin were presented to Joe Behson and he thanked us for all the work the club did to make it distinguished for last year. (picture on right)

3. Christmas tree stands are finally picked up and put away. Thanks to Botsy for the use of his pick up and to Bill Whipple, Clayton Besch, Dudley Door, Ray Turner, Jerry Tysiak and Ken James.

4. Bill Whipple went to the west Sand Lake firehouse and retrieved our tree tools and they are now at John Brownrigg's.  (Where Else?).

5. Senior Luncheon was held on the 12th and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Joe Trupia for helping to co ordinate this salute to our seniors. Thanks also to Dave Booker, Peg Weiss, Ray Turner, Dudley Dorr, Nancy W Davis and Jerry Tysiak.

6. Nancy W Davis reminded us that Doors of Hope would be needing help unloading their truck on March 17 at 9 am. Meet at the Java Beanery to join Joe Behson, Dave Booker, Dudley Dorr, Ken James, Bob Pasquarelli, Nancy W Davis and Dick Johnsen.

7. Yea!!!!! Dissipated Eight has been confirmed and will be at the High School at 7 pm on April 18. Tell all your friends and family not to miss this FREE concert and don't forget to bring some cash to buy their wonderful CD's.

8.  Interclub to Rensselaer Kiwanis’ 80th anniversary Saturday March 28th at the Rensselaer Volunteer Ambulance Building on Third Street Rensselaer at 6:00 PM signed up to go are: Colabelli, Loveridge, Tysiak, Ward, Lane, Weiss, Davis and Rogers.

 

 

PROGRAM: Woody's son Chuck Hacker was there with Boy Scouts Doug Mosher, Colin Van Ort and Shawn Willie. They are part of Troop 526 that meets in the Hoags Corner Firehouse and is made up of 15 Scouts that range from 12 to 17. They showed us a slide presentation of there activities which included camping at Cedarland Boy Scout Camp near Long lake. They are going back there this year also. They did themselves proud during this winter's Klondike Derby while learning valuable lessons in teamwork and dedication to getting the job done no matter what the weather. They also put on the Haunted House at the Hoags Corner Firehouse each Halloween. The Scouts work the Regional Food Bank and help at the Hoags Corners Firehouse Breakfast on the first Sunday of each month. They are having a Spaghetti Dinner on April 25 and would like us to attend and bring a friend or two.
