PROGRAM USS Arizona
Memorial presented by Skip Patton
Skip and his
family went to Hawaii to see this awe inspiring memorial to our service people
who were so suddenly attacked on Sunday December 7, 1941 at 7 am in the
morning. Skip described this site not to be missed in pictures and words. From
the oil that still seeps up from the USS Arizona to the outlines you can see
as you walk about, the list of our brave and dedicated military members.
Skip's voice still sounds with the reverence that the memorial brings to your
sole. Thank you Skip for sharing your memories that we should never forget…
HAPPY DOLLARS
$ Nancy W. Davis for finally getting the tree that fell during the ice storm in December removed and her clothes line replaced. Nancy was also very pleas4ed that the tree did now knock down her outhouse.
$ Eve Ward for Skip's program and the memories it brought back to her of being a girl in New Hampshire just 6 miles from Portsmouth Naval Base during the war.
$ Pat Lane - Glad her oldest Grand-daughter and her soon to be husband bought a house in our town.
$ Joe Behson- his granddaughter and daughter just had birthdays that he got to spend with them and his grand-daughter is 14. Being the gentleman that Joe is he did not give the age of his daughter. Smart man.
$ Barbara Fioravanti for a great week in Florida for her Lakeathon. a reunion of lake and amphibious pilots. Barb also saw the Space Shuttle Discovery lift off. AWESOME.
$ Dave Booker - Attended with LG Jim Rogers the presentations by the Academy for Character Training at the Sage Colleges of the NY State awards for Character. One of these VERY PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS was presented to the Kiwanis Club of Castleton. The event was held at the Franklin Plaza in Troy.
