PROGRAM    Ralph LaMontagna, Averill Park Education Foundation
Ralph told us about this group of volunteers who work tirelessly to enhance the learning experience in our schools. They bring varied programs into our schools. One of their really remarkable contributions is getting a baby grand piano for Algonquin Middle School  to replace on old upright piano. this was  a contribution from Mr. Qualierri and they had it cleaned and tuned. They also sponsor an Adventure Based Learning program at Algonquin which is fun while the students learn team building, problem solving and confidence while climbing the rock wall and doing rope  and mazes. They have sponsored the Garden Program  and brought in many different musical and dance groups to our schools. Every third grade gets a visit from David Alan Miller of the Albany Symphony Orchestra and he inspires our students to be involved in music and each year after that a member of the ASO visits the schools with different instruments to keeps up that awareness.  Each year in November they have a dinner and honor people in our community who have made an impact on the cultural education of our students. they have honored Karen and Chet Opalka, Janine Budesheim and Pilar Geminhardt. They continue to Enhance the Learning Experience.
