PROGRAM:  “The Other Side of Joe Cybulski”
Program Chair:  Ron Wagner
Speaker:  Joe Cybulski

Joe is a man who enjoys his job. He is the Rensselaer County Commissioner of Unified Family Services. He is passionate about getting our seniors the food, medical help, education and recreation that they deserve. Joe also oversees the Veterans and Youth Programs. He proudly told of the hot meals five days a week at each of the five senior centers as well as many home delivered meals. They deliver between 450-475 meals a day to local seniors and make and serve 160.000 meals a year.  A donation of $2.50 is suggested but if a person doesn't have it they are just as welcome. They also offer a respite care program for grandparents who are raising their grand children. He also mentioned the HIICAP program which helps our seniors choose the proper Medicare Part D program. There is transportation for seniors to the five senior centers. They also run an Ombudsman Program which is in need of some volunteers for which training is provided. This program provides advocates for the frail elderly living in long term care facilities. His voice shows his belief in keeping people in their homes as long as safely possible.
