New York District Convention was well represented by our members we filled the first two rows to show our support to Dave Booker who will be the Governor this year and in the 60 years of Sand Lake Kiwanis we have never had this honor.

Bill
Whipple covered the convention, as he had been one of our delegates. He
saidthe Veteran's Recognition was very moving. He returned with a stronger
belief that we need to be move active and willing to do Kiwanis work. When you
see Bill ask him about the Magic Of Kiwanis.'
Peg Weiss enjoyed the convention and came away knowing that Sand Lake can be very proud of our support for Dave. She was impressed by the Moving Up and Change of Leadership.
Sand Lake Kiwanis had 17 members who got together with others from the Van Rensselaer Division for dinner on Friday night at the convention This was to honor “our Dave" but he played hooky having to host the International Trustee. A great time was had by all.

We said a nice Thank You to Eve Ward for arranging our fantastic steak and lobster dinner.
When
you see Joe Cybulski please thank him for our “Music in the Park' we had five
nights of wonderful music with a good turnout. Thanks Joe.

Woody Hacker was very pleased to say that he had received a letter from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo thanking us for having Maurice Padula as a speaker to our club to talk about fraud. He also said that in the letter was an invitation to an information night about contractor fraud. This will be held on September 23 at 6 pm at 440 Whitehall Rd. in Albany.
Those who went to the Tailgate Part and then the play at the Theater Barn in New Lebanon had a wonderful time and this may become an annual tradition.
