§ Peg Weiss lost her favorite knife at Camp Rotary when we had the roast. It is a wooden handle paring knife with her name on the handle. If it went home with you please call and let her know 674-3719.
§ Perfect attendance (picture to right) to Ron Wagner 8 yrs, Joe Cybulski 10 yrs, Joe Behson 17 yrs and Dave Booker for 27 years.
§ Bob Pasquarelli thanked those who had worked the trailer at the soccer games and said it was clean and please don't use the lock on the door. Only use the pad lock, please.
§ Two changes were made related to the club officers and directors for 2009-10. Ron Wagner, having been nominated by the 2009-10 Board was elected by the membership to fill Pat Lane's board position as she was approved by the 2009-10 Board as the Club Secretary.
§ We have coverage for the trailer for Oct. 4 but we could use some help with Oct. 11. If you can give a couple of hours it would be very much appreciated.
§ The Sand Lake Historical Society will have an antique appraisal day this Saturday Sept. 26 10 -2 at the Miller Hill School.
§ Nancy W. Davis has signup sheets for the Doors of Hope deliveries. The dates are Friday Oct. 2 and Tuesday Oct. 13 at the usual time 9ish at the Java Beanery.
§ Please see or call Eve ward to sign up for our installation dinner which will be at Lakeview on Oct. 5.
§ Joe Behson represented some of the recommendations of the Futures Committee and asked for club consensus – which he received - they are as follows:
1. Streamline Board Meetings - conduct only essential club business on Board nights ( no program at all ); hold the Board meetings immediately following dinner and entertain no other business than what is on published agenda.
2. Committee Chairs to email reports to Secretary one week prior to meeting and thus eliminate redundant committee reporting at Board meetings.
3. One meeting per month assigned to Legacy Committee with a Legacy member as chair for that evening.
4. Hold a quarterly “Legacy Member Recognition Night“ honoring &/or roasting a Legacy Member with their family invited ( cash bar, appetizers & presentation of a SLK Legacy Plaque)
5.
Explore flexible member ship fees for members experiencing financial
downturns.
PROGRAM: John Mulligan presented a
program on the “Dredging of the Hudson River’s PBCs”. John has been
involved
in this process since 1973 when it was first suggested. He gave a thorough
report on how things have gone this first year and what they hope to
accomplish next year. John for all his knowledge spoke to each of us in a
manner that every person felt that they had a full understanding of the
process. Being able to take a process like this and bringing it to us on a
level of full understanding is a gift. Thank you, John, for a valuable evening
of knowledge.
