ANNOUNCEMENTS:

·        Skip Patton- Soccer trailer sign up sheets circulated for our last Sunday 11-01-09. Thank you to those who worked this past Sunday 10-25-09. Bill Whipple for delivering the trailer to the school; 1st shift workers – Lt. Gov Noreen Barrett, IP Lt. Gov. Jim Rogers, and John Mulligan, 2nd shift workers- John Brownrigg and Skip Patton and Jim Colabelli for returning the trailer to Bob Pasquarelli’s House. Also as usual a big thank you to Bob P. for preparing the trailer with food and drink.

·        Nancy Davis – Thank you to those who worked unloading the food truck on Tues. 10-20-09. Sign up sheets were circulated for the next date for unloading of the Doors of Hope food truck on Fri. 11-06-09. Adopt-A-Highway clean-up will take place beginning at the Arlington House parking lot this Sat. 10-31-09 at 9am.

·        Pres. Gary – Orders are being taken for the annual Russell Sage Circle K bread sale. Four different breads are being offered at $5 for 1 loaf or $9 for two loaves. See Pres. Gary for order forms

·        Pres. Gary for Ray Turner’s report on interclubs. Interclub to Troy’s Installation last Tues.; Pres. Gary, Woodie Hacker, Pat Lane and John Brownrigg. Interclub to Hoosick Falls last Tues.; Joe Cybulski who presented the program and Peg Weiss, Eve Ward and Dave Booker attended.

·        Pres. Gary – SLK received an acknowledgement from The Catholic Charities of The Diocese of Albany for our donation of $800 to Reach Program, Concerns You.

·        IPP. Jerry – Made a presentation with Gov. Dave Booker and Young Children Priority One Chair Bob Loveridge  to IP Lt. Gov Jim Rogers for all his hard work and  involvement in the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Unit at Albany Medical Center. For all this Jerry Presented The Prestigious Kiwanis Fellowship Medallion to Jim. He received a standing ovation from the Club for his award.

          Each Candidate spoke briefly regarding why they felt they were the right person for the Office for which they were running and the issues that needed immediate attention. Joe thanked all of the Candidates and Incumbents for taking time out during this extremely busy election season to come to speak to SLK Election Day is only one week away. Don’t forget to vote!                                                         

      

HAPPY DOLLARS:

·        Jerry Tysiak – Happy for Joe Cybulski’s Meet The Candidate’s Night

·        Pat Lane – Happy for receiving a kiss from Elvis at the “Elvis Night” Event She said that even though the excitement kept her awake for the rest of the night  it was worth it.

·        Joe Cybulski – Happy for being able to present Meet The Candidates Night and also happy that members of the SLKC attended an interclub to Hoosick Falls where he was the main speaker on programs for the Rensselaer County  Department of Aging.

·        Jim Rogers – Happy for all of the Candidates taking time out of their busy schedules to come to speak to SLKC. Jim was also happy for receiving Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Fellowship Award and stated that he received it for both he and his wife Joanne.

·        Peg Weiss – Happy that next Sunday  Nov. 1st at The Church of The Covenant from 4 to 6pm there will be a Festival of Music and Chocolate with many choral groups attending. For $10 you can have as many chocolate delicacies as you want. Money collected will benefit the Furniture Program of TAUMS.                  

     

 

DOOR PRIZE: Provided by Joe Cybulski and won by Peg Weiss

 

50/50 Worth $27 and won by Bob Loveridge.

 

MEGA 50/50 worth $201.50 and the chance to win went to  Eve Ward but her draw, the Ace of Clubs, unfortunately was not a winner.
