presenter and speaker Joseph Sarubbi who is the Executive Director of
TEC-SMART (Training and Education Center for Semi-Conductor Manufacturing
and Alternative and Renewable Technologies) at HVCC. Joe has been with HVCC
for 30 years and is proud to report that exciting things are going on at HVCC
in the technical arena. TEC-SMART is the name of the facility to be built in
Malta. A dream was taken to fruition with help from Joe Bruno and $13
million. This facility will concentrate on the research of renewable energy
and semi-conductor training. This is the first time for HVCC to build off
campus. Part of the building is to be designated for a community education
center with a large theatre. Concentration will be to facilitate hands-on
training for the students who will be brought in. The training of wind
turbine technicians will also take place at this facility. It will also have
the largest solar energy school in the area. Geothermal and photo voltaic
research and training will take place at this location. Ground will be broken
in March of 2009 and classes are expected to begin in January of 2010. In

Ken James (shown on right).
