Other Kiwanis meetings
The
Annual Meeting – held as a part of the regular meeting on the 2nd
Monday of May – is the meeting at which the club officers and directors for
the next year are elected; the club by-laws amended and the like.
Division
Council meetings – held every 6 to 8 weeks, are meetings of the leadership and
members of the various clubs of the division held after a host club’s regular
meeting.
Round
Table Meeting – when a regular meeting is canceled entirely (on a holiday or
due to bad weather) or when the time and place of the meeting is changed (as to
make arrangements for a special meeting or celebration) a round table meeting is
held at the club’s usual time and place.
In the past in order to receive attendance credit at a round table
members were required to sign an attendance list; more recently all members
receive attendance credit when it is necessary to hold a round table meeting.
Interclub
– an “away” meeting at another club’s regular meeting attended by 4 or
more Sand Lake Club members. Members
who interclub develop an appreciation of the strength of our club and a bond
with members of the other clubs near us.
Traditionally,
during Kiwanis US/Canada Goodwill Week, there is an interclub to Montreal,
Canada.
Governor’s Official Visit – an annual meeting of the division at which the District Governor informs the division as to the state of the New York District. This is more of a social affair that used to be called the Governor’s Ball.
