Procedure for becoming a member

In order to become a member of the Sand Lake Kiwanis Club you first must be asked (sponsored) by a current member.

The normal procedure is for a prospective member to attend four regular Monday night meetings.  At these meetings you will be able to meet the members and have them meet you. You will be able to observe the functioning of the club during the meetings and develop an idea of the service work done by the club.

After the third meeting you and your sponsor will be asked to meet with the membership committee.  The purpose of this meeting is to review with you your responsibilities as a member, answer any of your questions and ensure that all the paper work is complete.

After this meeting the membership committee will forward their recommendation to the club’s Board of Directors.

At its next regular meeting (held on the first Monday of each month) the Board will vote on your membership.

Upon the affirmative vote of the Board, arrangements will be made to induct you into the club during the next (the 4th required meeting) meeting of the club.
