Suggestions for a New Member

As a new member it is hoped that you will want to become active as quickly as possible.  It is suggested that you try the following tried and proven methods:

wear your membership pin (show pride of membership),

wear your name tag at all meetings (this will help others to get to know you),

assist by taking the attendance before meetings (this is the easiest way to meet everyone and learn their names),

sit at a different table each week (you will get to know more members more quickly),

attend the Board of Directors meetings (get to understand how the club is managed),

participate in interclubs as early and as often as your schedule will allow (you will learn about Kiwanis activities in other communities and realize the strengths of our own club),

attend a Division Council meeting (see what is going on within the division),

participate in any fund raising or service projects (you have to be active to get anything out of our membership),

discuss with members the various standing committees and their activities and join the one of your choice (you will be asked to join one – make it one that you would most like to be involved with),

suggest a new service project or fund raiser, and

invite someone you know to come to a meeting as a prospective member.

If you work with your sponsor to learn about the club you can earn them the "Ring of Honor"    See the secretary if you are interested.
